Earthquake Emergency in Venezuela

CISP is on the ground.

Two powerful earthquakes have struck northern Venezuela, causing severe damage to already vulnerable communities. Thousands of families have lost their homes, their belongings and every point of reference. There is an urgent need for safe drinking water, essential supplies, healthcare, psychosocial support and safe shelter.

CISP has been working in Venezuela for many years and, from the very first hours after the earthquakes, activated its emergency response in the hardest-hit areas.

Our teams are standing alongside affected communities, working with local rescue teams and taking part in search and rescue operations, as well as providing assistance and protection to the most vulnerable people.

From neighbouring Colombia, we have already mobilised logistical and operational support to accelerate the emergency response and reach the communities most affected by the disaster.

Initial estimates indicate that hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes. With every passing hour, the need for assistance grows, making it increasingly challenging to deliver life-saving aid to those who have lost everything.
