Description

The project guarantees access to a safe learning environment, equipped with drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities for school-aged children.

This involves the partial reconstruction of two primary schools and the construction and equipment of an intermediate school as well as the rehabilitation of a college.

The project is also responsible for the creation of a handbook on school infrastructure construction standards aimed at strengthening local education authorities in the design and management of infrastructure adapted to the local context in order to ensure its rational use and sustainability.

Improving access to quality education in a safe learning environment in Saharawi refugee camps

Activities

  • Partial reconstruction of the Lal Andala elementary school in the Boujdour camp
  • Reconstruction and equipping of the Bola Ahmed Zein elementary school in the Smara camp
  • Rehabilitation of the June 17 boarding school in the Smara camp
  • Development of a manual on school infrastructure construction standards
