This summer, CISP, the Italian Government, Konjuh Lab, and the United Nation Population Fund are happy to invite Italian students to participate to Konjuh Camp 2023 and join us in an unforgettable experience of the Konjuh Protected Landscape, Tuzla Canton, in the north-east of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The 7-day trip – from August 26^th to September 2^nd – is open to 20 university students from Italy and it is completely free for all participants: all travels, accommodations, meals, and medical insurance will be covered by the project.

Konjuh Camp 2023 intends to create an opportunity for Italian students to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, to meet with local peers, to learn about the cultural and historical values of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to get familiar with international cooperation projects, to promote a culture of dialogue among people of different backgrounds, and to challenge divisive narratives and stereotypes passed on by previous generations.

Immersed in incomparable nature landscapes, the students will attend lectures on environment, natural capital, Global Biodiversity Framework, climate change, ecosystem services, environmental mainstreaming, sustainable development, local governance, international cooperation, eco-poverty, and eco-migrations by professor Massimo Zortea of Trento University, and workshops on intercultural dialogue, and hate speech, understanding violence, conflict and peace transforming conflict by UNFPA experts.

Wonderful adventures, tasty local food, and cultural activities will be of course also part of the experience!

The students will hike Peak Bandijerka (Mount Konjuh) leaded by a professional guide and learning about the area’s natural value, as well as its geographic and morphologic characteristics.

Some of the students will also have opportunity to climb Via Ferrata Paolo Dieci, guided by a professional climber.

The trip

• Departure on August 26^th on a ferry from Ancona to Split, then bus from Split to Kladanj (travels to Ancona will be covered by us, too).
• 5 full days of study, trekking and friendship!
• Return on September 2^nd flying back to Italy from Sarajevo or Beograd.
