Description

The action aims to contribute to the right to education for all refugee children in the emergency context of Sahrawi camps, improving access to education in a safe and context-sensitive environment. The project aims to ensure access to a safe learning environment with adequate water, hygiene, and sanitation facilities for schooled children through the reconstruction of a primary school in the Dakhla camp and the rehabilitation of two primary schools and a secondary school in the Smara camp.

Goals

General Objective
Contribute to the right to education in Sahrawi refugee camps.

Specific Objective
Improve access to education for refugee children in a safe, inclusive, and context-sensitive learning environment in Sahrawi refugee camps.

Activities

  • Complete reconstruction and equipment of a primary school in Dahla (Said Haidoug).
  • Rehabilitation of hygiene and sanitation facilities in the primary schools of Ali Bila and Brahim Mohammed Ahmed and in the intermediate school Abda Mohammed in Smara.
  • Monitoring of work by local technical studies.
  • Update of the five-year strategy for the rehabilitation/construction of school infrastructure (2020-2024).

Output and results

Enhancement of the access to a safe learning environment and adequate hygiene and sanitation facilities.
