Quality education for young Sahrawis

The actions aim to improve the quality of education in the Sahrawi refugee camps through the strengthening of the education system and pedagogical training of teachers, as well as the integration of students in secondary schools in Algeria by supporting the teaching of French.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the programme involves students attending primary and secondary schools in the Wilaya (provinces) of the Sahrawi camps: Awserd, Boujdour, Layoune, Dakhla.

• Contribution to the improvement of the quality of skills of Sahrawi students offered by the local education system
• Institutional strengthening of the education sector

• Incentives for teaching staff
• Pedagogical training
• Development of appropriate teaching tools
• Upgrading and creation of infrastructure (training centre and resource centre)
• Intensive preparation of children leaving for schools in Algeria (French language teaching)

Direct involvement of:

• 29 French teachers and inspectors in 2 pedagogical training centres for teachers
• 40,000 boys and girls attending courses (2020-2021)
