Voices of Peace from Mozambique: a podcast that unites communities

In a small imaginary village in Mozambique, the wounds of war begin to heal thanks to the power of words.
“Stories of Mandazi” is a 8-episodes podcast about the challenges and hopes of a community trying to reconcile after a long conflict.

Broadcast on 34 national and community radio stations and translated into 3 local languages, this podcast produced by CISP and local organisation Nguva has already reached thousands of people, bringing a message of peace, dialogue and inclusion to a country, Mozambique, where the echoes of the war are still very strong and the peace and national reconciliation process is still ongoing.

Through the stories of Amândio and Anabela or the former female combatant Celestina, the audience rediscovers the value of peaceful coexistence and acceptance of others and reflects on issues such as democracy and political participation, the rights of women and girls, and the memory of the most recent conflict, also and above all for the younger generations.

Dialogue, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, fight against discrimination, hospitality and inclusion: “Stories of Mandazi” highlights all of this.
