Global Education Time

This project endeavours to enhance the capacity of the education system in eight European countries through the application of Global Citizenship Education (GCE).

With a primary focus on empowering educators and fostering student engagement while developing a sense of co-responsibility for local and global sustainable development, the initiative focuses on four main global challenges: international inequalities, climate changes, gender inequality, and migration.

Building upon the previous Get Up and Goals!, the GET project intends to ensure an improved integration of GCE in school curricula through the design and dissemination of teaching and learning materials, by fostering active engagement of students, and by stimulating dialogue with national educational authorities and the civil society.

All actions are designed to leverage resources and participatory methodologies so to enhance teaching practices, nurture critical thinking skills, and cultivate a culture of lifelong learning. The strategic partnerships with educational institutions and civil society organisations intend to co-create sustainable solutions to pressing educational challenges. Ultimately, the project strives to instil a sense of global citizenship and empathy among learners, paving the way for a more equitable world.

• To develop a sense of co-responsibility with respect to SDGs, and specifically to 4 Global Challenges: international inequalities, climate changes, gender inequality, migration, contributing to the achievement of SDG Target 4.7.
• To create active engagement of youth in global citizenship.
• To improve GCE integration in European school curricula.

• Provide teachers with teaching and learning resources to integrate CGE in school curricula.
• Engage students in the four challenges of international inequalities, climate changes, gender inequality, migration, and entice their willingness to design and implement youth citizenship actions.
• Help educational authorities to improve implementation of GCE in national strategies.
• Raise awareness of the general public and CSOs on the themes of GCE and the four global challenges.
• Design and implement an European online campaign on the themes of the project.

1. European teachers can integrate GCE in their curricula, thereby supporting students to be more aware of global interdependencies and challenges and more competent to overcome these.
2. European students and youth transform their Global Learning into engagement through citizenship actions about SDGs related issues in their communities and online.
3. Education Authorities and CSOs in 8 countries have more knowledge and opportunities to collaborate on the integration of GCE in formal education.
4. Increased GCE cohesion and coherence at the European and country level, through the implementation of common evaluation and assessment systems for GCE in formal education.
